I'm looking for hydraulic chute rotation solutions people have come up with for the 2782. That will be the first project I do beginning the day of delivery. I won't be buying the Kubota kit, more as a protest of the cost, but also because I like doing this kind of modification myself. I'm really interested in seeing some pictures of what you guys have done and I'll come up with some similar unit from there. Thanks in advance. Dyer, retired

Congrats on the new Machine!

Chute rotation...How is it configured to rotate now...Worm Gear, Gear on Gear? If its like the other Kubota blower setups I've seen and the one posted (Gear on Gear), MY thought process would be to order just the Drive gear thru parts and scour eBay and Surplus Center for a hydraulic motor that fits.
As much as I love modding & building...sometimes its not worth (both time & $$$) reinventing the weel....

I've got the hydraulic motor and gear coming from Surplus Center, along with some half couplings in case I determine that using the existing worm gear is a simpler fix. I like the fabrication part of these projects and working on this stuff is my hobby. About 15 hours more to wait!

The new B3030 arrived at 9:00 a.m. on 11-19-09....very exciting! I have a couple of projects started already, but lights will be the first thing to go on. The new snow blower is very well constructed and 63" wide, so I'm looking forward to clearing some snow with that. I have a new Woods 6 foot blade coming for the back, the 5 foot that I have on the BX1800 appeared a tad small when mounted. Anyway, here are some pictures with the bucket, the blower, and side by side with the BX1800. Dyer, retired

That looks good, but I'm glad I never had any use or need for a snowblower.:D

With the exception of 3 years in the Navy, I've spent 55 years clearing snow in the Winter. The snow blower sure makes life easier during snow season. Now, if I could just get one of those rigs up on to the roof!

Thanks for the pictures John. That looks like a really good set up you have there! In the last picture, it looks like the quick attach for the snow blower is still installed with the loader on. Does the loader function OK with it there?

Chuck,

The loader works great with the quick hitch installed...no interference. The quick hitch hydraulic hoses are just wrapped around the front bumper when the loader is on. I will take the quick hitch sub-frame off in the summer. I can have the loader off and the blower installed in about 10 minutes, so it makes it nice. Another month and the blower and back blade will stay mounted until Spring. John

Nice tractors..I know you are excited and rightly so...but I am with Bird...I am glad I don't have to mess with a snow blower...LOL

Thanks! I'm just glad I don't have to mess with the snow with the old 24" walk behind blower anymore. Still have to shovel that roof though!

I am having attachment issues, but only until I sell it. :D Hammond Tractor wasn't going to offer much, so I will hang on to it until I get what I'm asking for it. I decided that I had no interest in giving it away and I've got several people interested at my asking price. I take good care of my equipment and that is fairly well known, so I'm not concerned about it being around too long.
For now, I can say I'm a two tractor owner, ha!

Yo, Dyer (not so retired),

Keeping both sounds like a great idea. You just need a new 3 bay garage.

Isn't it also time to update your Avatar?

The 3 bay garage sounds good. I'm not going to change the Avatar, just work toward being retired again some day. ;)

Alan,

Thanks for the very generous offer, but I'm not tearing down the old garage, just planning on adding an additional garage....can never have too much storage space. But, drive that big CAT up anytime and we'll find something to tear down or uproot, ha! Have a great Thanksgiving! John

Well, I sold the BX1800 to a friend of mine, so jaybrad, another neighbor
(B2620 owner), and I delivered it yesterday. I was glad to get it out from under a tarp that I was going to have to store it under and get it to someone I know will appreciate it. (Picture of the BX1800 on trailer and me showing new owner the blower setup (jaybrad photographs)

I had some scrap pieces of steel and needed some welding practice, so I made a fuel filter guard. I didn't have any equipment to make the curve in the steel, so I angled some pieces to make the guard (copied one I saw on TBN in the past.)

I fashioned another bracket for the additional LED's on the ROPS bar and mounted those. The pictures are not real close-up views, but I added the pictures below...you get the idea. The lights appear to be mounted off center of the bracket, because they are. My intention is to mount two more rear facing lights toward the outer portion of the bracket underneath the forward facing lights.

I also traded the drag links that came with the B3030 for drag links from a
B3200 that didn't have the adjustable ball hook ups. I do a lot of pushing with the rear blade and made this same modification (3RRL inspired) to the BX1800. I welded a piece of quarter inch square stock on the bottom of the link before adding the Patエs EZ change kit. I couldn't get enough of the reinforcement under the bottom front curve of the link, so I added a top piece of stock, making an I-beam on the forward most part of the bar.

That's the update on the new rig modifications from snowy Maine.

looks like you really beefed up those 3pt arms. I also noticed you shortened the roll bar. I would like to do that on my b3200 but hate to take away stock roll bar in case I decide to sell it someday. I would like to build a new upper section and have it so a canopy would fit in the garage with it up.

I did shorten the ROPS upper piece...well, I had a machine shop do it for me. I can get in and out of the garage now and prefer to have bar up full time, because I know I'd skip putting it up for small jobs and thought that it was better this way. I saw one that "Gomer" did and liked it, but know that I'll be criticized by many on TBN for doing it. I also know that if the modification was something that prevented a future buyer from making the purchase, the top piece can be replaced and made to original form.

I bent my drag links on the old tractor and 3RRL had made this simple modification to beef up his links. I've never had a problem since, but have also made some additional equipment changes. I have skid shoes on my blade now and that prevents it from digging into everything so aggressively. I also cleared many of the obstacles from the yard that get hidden when the snow hits, so that's probably helped a lot. Dyer, retired
