Unfortunately most things are made by committee today. While they generate a nice product they never are up to the things made and created by someone with a vision. Examples, Porsche, Ferrari, Rickover, Wernher von Braun, Job and Mac, all the best things are made by people with a vision, not by committee.

Steve Jobs was a remarkable combination of both a technical genius AND a marketing wizzard. There are many products that can duplicate what Apple products do functionally, but the iProducts dominate because of Apple's marketing.
He took Apple from almost bankruptcy to a company worth well over $300 billion.
He will be remembered as time goes on as the best of the best.

Plus (almost) everything Apple sold was made in Communist China..for pennies, then sold for big bucks.
No Apple for me....
Although the guy wast really smart.

Well, it didn't start out that way... my Apple // was built by a friend at the Apple Fremont production facility back when the valley companies had home based manufacturing.
If Fremont CA sounds familiar it is probably because the Solyndra Plant set up shop there.

Ultra, yep Macs were also made near me in Elk Grove CA. up until about 2004.
Makes me wonder where tractorErnie and schoolsout purchased their non Chinese built non "slave labor" computers? Obviously they cannot have Dells or HP's to mention but a few. If their current ones are not "slave built", their next ones will most likely be built with "slave labor".
I wonder if Ernie's Branson, Hinomoto or other tractors were built by "slave laborers"?
I'm just asking.... :laughing:

My lovely wife built my computer, she has 2 degrees from college as experience in the computer field.
My hinomoto was built in Japan = no slaves there
The branson was built in NORTH Korea = none there either
Yanmars = nope...
Besides, Steve Jobs CHOSE to have his company's products built in China.
He PROFITED from it, and he made the choice.
There's no getting around that.
