Grass burrs are a curse. We have them at our deer camp and they end up getting lodged in the carpet in the cabin. You can't walk around the cabin unless you have some shoes on.
I think everyone's giving you the right advice. The only thing that works is an expensive pre-emergent.

Last year was really bad for them down here. There was a post on craigslist by some guy in Alice that was "giving away free sticker burrs." I wish I had saved a screenshot of it, the ad was hilarious to any of us that have dealt with them.
Curse is an understatement when you have them bad, they're horrible to step on in the middle of the night at the doormat when you're letting the dog out because she just can't wait.
I have five Akers and these goat head stickers are multiplying, the turf tires on my JD mower always had flats until I found some six ply tires, the goat head stickers still stick in them but not a flat yet. This year I had to pull up each plant by hand and sweep the thousands of stickers up with a broom and dustpan, unbelievable how many stickers one weed can produce.
