i have a b2100 gear drive with a throttle lever that needs some major effort to move....dealer claims it will loosen with age but this is not happening...any ideas how to free up the movement of this lever would be a great help...is this a common problem???

The throttle on my Kubota L3000 was / is a litttle stiff. It is starting to move a little easier, or I am getting used to it. I find the foot throttle a nice feature.

glad your throttle is freeing up...mine seems like it will require some type of adjustment....will look into it this weekend as time allows...

Pop the dash out(it's just clipped in). Remove the screw for the plastic shroud at the top, disconnect the ignition switch, disconnect the dash connectors and hourmeter cable, drive the roll pin out of the the throttle lever, disconnect the combination switch(lights) pop the steering wheel off (may be a pain) and pull the "bonnet" off. You'll see two jam nuts on the throttle shaft. Loosen the nuts and back off on the inside nut(you'll see what I mean). Then re-tighten, just make sure there's enough tension to keep it from creeping back on it's own.

Kubmech,
Is the BX the same way? My BX has a stiff throttle and its tuff to just tune up a touch, it seems to resist and then jump.
I might want to adjust also.

Have'nt dug into a BX yet for throttle tension adjustment. But I imagine it's a similiar set up, two jam nuts or a locknut putting tension on frictions washers.

It's amazing to me that Kubota makes it so darn right difficult to get to that nut to adjust the throttle tension!! I spent several hours today trying to get my throttle stiffer as it loosened up from being too tight to being very loose after one job. I can't keep the throttle fixed in one place without tying a rubber tire intertube around the lever and tying it off. After several hours today, I gave up. The roll pin on the throttle is rusted and won't come out. I took the instrument panel off, hoping I could get to something, but no, it's down at the bottom where you can't get to it. Does Kubota make a special tool for dealers that allow them to get to this adjustment without standing on your head and tearing the tractor apart? If they just moved the location of the bolt by an inch, it would be easy to adjust. Guess they want to make sure dealers have something to charge for! This is insane.
