Sticking Hydro Pedal on BX.....

I would be great if some of the dealers that frequent this site can confirm the fix, i.e. transmission bearings. Any idea what is involved, how long it takes, what is the cost, etc. Do you think this would be covered under the 3 year warranty, I just went past the 2 year mark. If anyone confirms this with a bulletin number or what ever, can you post the information, it would be great to do the leg work for the dealer. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif I think this is a safety hazard and should be covered regardless by Kubota.

Mine just started doing it also, and I've got about 75 hours on it. I also almost hit the garage door while backing up the other day. I was not pleased it stuck, so I am intersted in solutions as well. I think I'll start with the lubing mentioned above.

OK, it is covered under the 3 year warranty, but you have to get your dealers attention first.....2x4 or a call from Kubota themselves.

I can state this enough, there is something in the transmission/whatever they call it that is to tight, or tightens up with use. Mine did it after 25 hours. Took them calling K to find out about the problem, but K does know about it. The service mgr should be able to contact them and find out. I may be able to get my dealer to fax me a list of what he found out, it is not that long ago.

Please be careful on these guys and gals, this is dangerous

Danny,

If you can get him to send you more detailed info them maybe we can all get this fixed. Judging from the about of hits on this topic, I am guessing this is effecting more then just a few machines. I would like to hear from the new owners of the new BX23XX version, do you also have this problem??

not being familar with that tractor, i still think there is a majior problem, seems like too many guys are having the same problem, and it is A SAFETY ISSUE, BESIDES BEING AGGRAVATING.

Tom

Kubota is very much aware if this problem. I spoke with them about it in June of last year. They told me it was just an adjustment procedure that the dealer could fix quickly. They denied that it is a widespread problem.

When I spoke with the dealer I was told that the service bulletin did not always resolve the problem (they had seen the problem before and was not able to fix it). I suspect that the procedure may fix the problem temporarily but the problem returns in a few weeks or months. At least that is my experience. I would not rate my dealer as a top-notch service provider. Maybe other dealers are better at resolving these type of problems.

I need to get my tractor back to the dealer so that they can have another crack at fixing the problem. I haven’t made an appointment yet because I am not confident that they will be able to fix it; plus I will have to pay another $60 fee for them to pickup the tractor. For now, I will just be very cautious when operating the tractor. Once a fix is clearly defined, I will schedule it in for service.

I think that everyone that is having this problem should contact Kubota and urge them to notify all BX users of this problem. When I contacted them, they showed no concern but if they get enough complaints they will have to take more action. It amazes me that the dealers are not more aware of service bulletins, especially when they have to deal with safety issues.

I will contact them on Monday. I will let you know what they can tell me then, even service bulletins etc.

they tried the adjustment thing with mine, it was back in there the next week.........then they fixed it, but it took a week for them to get to it again. Sounds like a carbon copy of what you and others have had.
