Well I just ordered the Everlast PA200st from Home Depot. After a bunch of looking and reviews I am happy with my choice.... Thanks all

That's a great machine. You will like it a lot.

Let me know if you have any questions about operation.

Mark? I got the welder from Home Depot saturday and have not used it yet..much rain. I spoke to your guy in tech support and he told me that it came with a tig gun, mine did not. Was it just missing from the box and wondering if I should take it back? let me know.

The 200st is a stick welder. No mig gun will hook up to it. I does have lift start tig though, so you could get a tig torch and a bottle of argon down the road.

Had to edit post …. tig …not mig auto correction is giving me a fit.

I have a Hobart Stickmate LX AC/DC. Works fine for the type of jobs you're contemplating. Never ran into a duty factor problem welding stuff like 4"x4" x 1/4" steel tubing or 1/2" plate for DIY 3 point hitches. Bought it about 7 years ago at Tractor Supply for about $400.

Last week I picked up a Hobart 140 wire feed unit from Tractor Supply for $479 (a Father's Day special, I suppose). I have a few projects going that need a lot of welding on thin stuff (1/8" steel). It's got the internal plumbing already installed for MIG gases. I see a spool gun in my future for aluminum welding.

Good luck.

Tech support guy? Who was it ? He needs to be corrected about the package contents...and should be fully aware as this question is a common one people ask before purchase. My apologies, but No, it does not, and has never come with a TIG torch. The 140ST does come with a TIG torch and a carry case as part of the deal. But the 200ST only comes with a electrode holder and work clamp. It is not advertised with a TIG torch. It is capable though and is an option.

I have a Hobart Handler 140 and it is a great machine. I have had it about 6 years and for the longest time just used core wire and my welds were not pretty, recently went to solid wire and the difference is huge. You will love this machine.

Seems like this happened when the TBN members were purchasing the Everlast machines form Amazon because of a pricing problem that caused them to be even cheaper than usual. It was like a surprise when the box was opened trying to figure out what was included. Seems like some even came without a plug, yet others did. That really surprised me that even the manufacturer wasn't even sure what would be included on the welders when they were opened. That scared me away.

That being said it sounds like you are happy with your machine as are most of the people on here who have purchased them. In the end that is what matters most.
