stiff treadle

i would wait for Terry to have him give you his opinion, before you spent another $100.00. if Terry is still out hunting, ask for Mike, he is the stunt driver and trouble shooter behind the scene. i have received some good input from him, also. Mike is also the guy on all the later pictures, especially the once with the power dumper. Don is very good, but for a hundred dollars you may just get a second and third opinion, i feel.

good luck

I have unhooked cable at both ends. Treadle is good, pump is good(thank god), so it has to be either the cable or the hydo-back. I don't know how to tell if the hydro-back is working, stiff, etc. . I can turn the black sheath around it and I hear a spring inside. It does what it is supposed to because my treadle centers just fine. Is there any way to tell if it is stiff? Can you somehow grease the main treadle cable? If not, I guess I need a $100 cable.

I'd ask them if there is any way to lubricate the cable or if the lubrication could ruin the hydroback somehow. Most cables that I have ever lubricated were with graphite, not oil.

That would be great. It doesn't look like a small task to get the cable out so that I can get oil, grease, or whatever down in it. You have to work in some cramp quarters to get at parts on these tractors. You guys with new ones don't have to woory about this for awhile though.
