Anyone have any experience with this system. looking at the KM 56 model to use the trimmer, blade, tiller and maybe the blower. All input welcome, main concern was whether the 56 has enough power to work the tiller in bark mulch?

Thanks
Steve

I have one, can not recall which power pack (will look when next out to machine shed) but it works very well. Easy to swap tools. Pole saw blade has small oil tank, uses two tanks oil to one tank gas so must keep an eye on levels. It has extension pole so can reach many limbs but must be careful to avoid pinching blade. Paddle sweeper is a bit heavy but does work well. Tiller does good work but a bit big for between rows, (will plant farther apart next year). I would not try to break sod for new garden (but I have a bigger tiller). Next tool I get will be the power scythe.

I can't speak for the Kombi-System but the Stihl blower, chain saw, tiller, and pole saw in my arsenal have been faithful work horses for years.

Can't address your power head question-I have a KM 130 with the pole primer and paddle sweeper. I don't use either of the tools all that much, making the Kombi ideal for those applications. I am completely satisfied, and will buy a trimmer if my FS 85 ever breaks.

I have the system and been using it for several years and am very pleased. Worked perfect without any problems at all. Think we bought the largest powerhead and the tiller, weed wackier, pole saw, and hedge trimmer all have more than enough power with it.

I checked mine, it is the KM 110 power head.

From ones that have owned that system, the K90 is the minimum you want to go. Most shoot for the 110 or 130.

KM130 with the tiller here.

Probably could get away with the 110, but for the little added cost and basically no added weight, just as well to go big

My wife bought mine as a birthday gift, came with just the pole saw tool for strimming my shooting lanes for tree stands. Advice from shop was it was more than enough. Now that we are adding other tools, suppose we could have gone bigger. The tiller works very well on this power head, do not think bigger would matter for this job. Paddle broom might benefit from more power.

Bought the KM130 with tiller, blower, trimmer and power scythe this spring. Very happy with the system, got the largest power unit because I might be tempted with the paddle broom and edger. Blower pushes a lot more air on this power level.

I believe the tiller would need more than the KM56, but not sure.

Power scythe has been a bit disappointing. Works well if you have some sparse weeds/grass to cut (along my pond edge) but it has been a struggle to use efficiently in a fully grassed/weeded area.

I have one. I think I have the KM 90. I have a blower, sickle bar head, and a regular string trimmer. I want a chain saw head. The sickle bar head is almost worthless unless you are trimming 10 feet tall bushes. I like the leaf blower far better than a regular leaf blower, but my backpack blows it away. The string trimmer head is pretty self explanatory.

I own three Kombi 110. Mainly use the chainsaw attachments, but also the hedge trimmer. They are simply awesome. For chainsawing, the 110 is plenty powerful. It's one of my most used tools.

Anyone have any comments on the Echo system similar to the Stihl? I looked at the PAS230 the other day.

I don't have what you're looking at but I can speak to blowers. If you can swing it, get a Stihl BR600 or the Echo equivalent. I keep finding new ways to use it. From blowing out gutters, to sweeping pine needles, to sweeping my garage floor and blowing it all outside. Awesome.

I also have a Shihl blade on a stick I forget the model number but it is the $1100 3.0 hp one with a harness. I wouldn't spend as much money on that tool again as it is really only useful for trimming stuff around trees and a smaller unit can do the same.

For tree limb trimming, my go to tool is a Jameson blue stick pole saw with a Sherril Tree blade holder and a 14" fantail. It allows me to cut material up to about 24' high and is the lightest fiberglass pole saw on the market. Jameson saws are what the pros tend to use and after I found out about Jameson blue stick poles, it was some of the best saw money I've ever spent.

I have had the Echo pas230 for several years, one of the few multi taskers that does each job a well as a uni-tasker. Had the tiller on it yesterday to ready several small areas to sew grass seed, couldn't get over how well it did. I was able to pick up the hedge trimmer and garden edger from a rental division that was closing . The paddle does a great job of removing the gravel from the lawn from the snowplow.
Plenty of power to run the power pruner , been very happy with it.

I have the 110 power unit and a hedge trimmer, pole saw, and string trimmer attachments. No complaints, it starts when I want it to and simply does its job. If it melted in a fire I'd replace it with the same thing.

I have the 110 power unit and like it. I wanted the 130, but the dealer only had the 110 when I needed one, and I have not felt that it was underpowered.

I have string trimmer, hedge trimmer & pole saw for it. The single power unit means that the motor gets run more often than 3 separate tools and is easier to start.

Definitely a good buy.

KM130R here - had it about 8 years. My application is usually my 6 acres: lots of string trimmer use and edging.

I have the string trimmer, brushcutter, straight shaft edger, pole pruner/extension, and power sweep/brush.

Besides my mower, the KM gets the most use. I specifically did not get the blower and hedge trimmer. To me, those are specific-use machines. I guess the hedge trimmer would work for taller hedges, but I didn't need that and thought it would get unwieldy (same with a long blower).

As Eric points out, the BR600 is great. I use this and a smaller blower (BG85). And

I've pushed this thing to its limits, and wouldn't want a smaller powerhead - that's just my opinion. Awesome machine and attachments. Worth the investment if you 'use' them. Hope that helps out.

I bought the KM90 with brush head for now. Will add more heads next year or maybe even as Christmas presents. I never realized these were four stroke engines that take mixed gas. A neat idea on the principle of operation.
