Hello folks,

It's been a while since I took delivery of my tractor but two life altering events took place in the meantime. It's been over a year since this beauty arrived and I've been having a BLAST with her. My nine year old daughter drives the tractor and operates the backhoe and each and every time I get a ****** grin on my face :D She may not know what a PS4 is, but dang it she'll know how to dig trenches!!

Anyway, one of the latest annoyances that I'd like some input on is the relocation of the loader spool joystick. I'd like to move it out of the way so that I can ingress/egress on the right side of the tractor. Not a huge deal but would be nice to be able to get in/out of either side of my tractor when I'm in the middle of a project.

I've driven other tractors where the spool valve was in the area of the loader arm pivot point and my right hand naturally looks for it at this location!

Let me know what y'all suggest in this regard.

Thank you.

Can you post a picture of the loader joy stick location? I have used tractors with it mounted at the loader arm and extends toward the seat which is a PITA On my Kubota L3240 it is mounted just slightly forward of the 3PH lever which is way less trouble. If you are skinny you can get on and off the right side with it in that location. I think anything more complicated than bending the valve handle will be a huge PITA.

Trust me, it is more benefit for her to know how to dig a trench than use a PS4! My son is now 25 and getting his PHD in dirt and plants. He told me a while back that he wishes I had never allowed him to have a game system. He now realizes how much of his life he wasted on those things! He had much rather be in the dirt or on a tractor now. It looks like it is going to pay him rather nicely also!

We're from old school it seems. Teach the kids something worthwhile early on and they'll carry it with them for a long time. Here's a pic of my precious handling the tractor like she means business!!!

Is that the factory job? It looks hazardous for itself exposed like that.

No, I removed the cover for a project I was working on. Notice the tools laying around!

It's mounted this way on the continued 16 series as well. It was one of the reasons I went with Mahindra as I found other tractors even less accessible when they mounted their's on one of the loader stanchions with the loader handle infiltrating the total right side of the opening.
I think on smaller tractors such ours, there are not too many choices as to where to mount a control stick and have it accessible. I have only a bit of a problem getting on to the right of the tractor and I'm no ferret. Although I prefer the left side for access and dismount, the right proves to be fine in a pinch when there is say a tree on my left blocking departure or too much stuff on the ground for a left exit. At least I can use that side if I have to without much acrobatics at all.

My previous tractor had the controls mounted forward near the pivot point for the lift. My new 3016 has it like yours and is a big improvement for me. I hated the long tiring reach, especially when moving snow for hours at a time. Now it's just drop my arm down to my side and move my wrist. MUCH BETTER.

I don't care it's there and that they block exiting as all the pedals on that side block easy access any way. The brake pedals are useless but they're there in the way of a SAFE mount or dismount. Pant legs can too easily get caught on them or the hst pedals.

I'll mount/dismount like a horse, from the left. No problem.

I have a 3316 as well but I like where the fel controls are located . Why did you have to remove the cover or I should have asked did you have a problem with the controls ?
