It took me 5 years to get a pc and another 4 to learn how to use. Now you want vedio's, no way.

Do you do syrup for fun or for a side business/hobby business? Or do you do syrup so you could justify the RTV:) , you needed something to go collect the sap:D

Nice pictures though, it would be great to see some action pics with the snow flying.

We make syrup as a hobby. I hire one guy to help, we usually make our expenses and a little bit more. If I got snow flying then that means the tracks are spinning and I am not moving. That don't happy very often, if it does then and only then do I shift to 4 wheel drive. Mostly I am in 2 wheel drive.I justifie my RTV and Kubota tractor because I am retired. I worked near 50 years to get to this point to really enjoy my retirement years. I am also retired military and diabled vet.

Well, at least you are enjoying your retirement. So many people I know are afraid to spend a dime after they retire (my grandfather is one of them:( ). I don't know why he is afraid of spending any of his money but he keeps stuggling with old worn out equipment until he finally breaks down and buys a new one then is like a kid at Christmas once he does and has to tell everyone about his new toy:)

I would much rather see him spend his money either on small vacations or to enjoy some of lifes luxuries instead of passing on and leaving it for inheritance.

Myself, I figure I will enjoy life as I go and am lucky to be able to do so. My daughter is spoiled rotten by my parents and myself and with everything life has given me so far I will not complain (well, I won't complain too much;) ) I do love what I do for a living and the freedom I have so when I get a bad spell (October was not a good month for me, broke my back and my one dealer gave me a $13k bill on a $5k repair) I can usually find a positive out of it (I get to spend a lot of time with my daughter now and for the next 4 months).

I was in the Air Force and went thru Veitnam then I took a ten year break and went back into an Army reserve unit. Went thru Panama and the first Gulf war. That was enough for me. I retired as a SSGT and 23 years.

I must say, I loved my time in the service.

Some things you learn can't be taught in the real world.

I have the upmost respect for all military people.. :)
