stocking pond

I personally would not put Catfish in my pond because they are bottom feeders and will keep your water muddy. Suggest you contact your state's dept. of natural resources (or whatever they call it in your state) and ask them for advice. They may even provide the fish for free or for a nominal charge.

Channel catfish will not muddy up your pond. That is why most states recommend them for stocking. Bullheads, now that will cause a muddy pond. ;)

look for "Jones Fish Farm" they stock in our area and several others and advertise on many little rural publications.

I suspect that though if a river otter is there you will have issues getting the fish to grow much prior to them getting ate...
