stocking pre made hydraulic hoses

/ stocking pre made hydraulic hoses #11
Does anybody stock premade hydraulic hose assemblies?

If so what is the common size of hose you stock, 3/8 inch hoses or ス hoses and

What are the most common lengths you stock?

I have bought many pre-made hoses from SurplusCntr, AgriSupply, and
dealers on eBay. Since I buy extras, I guess you could say I stock them.
I have the hardest time finding 1/4" hoses. I am working on a GenieLift
now that uses 1/8" hoses! I don't think any of my local suppliers can
even get that size.

Anyway, I am moving toward reusable fittings since my local suppliers
for custom hoses have become more and more difficult to deal with. That
means I buy long pre-made hoses and add one reusable end.

Discount Hyd Hose is my fitting vendor of choice (not hoses).

Whenever i get a hose made-up, I always buy at least two. Label it and hang it on the wall. Eventually I'm bound to have a spare for everything.

Seems to me that the basics on hydraulic hose sizes is simple enough, so i assume he means do people plan ahead and keep some on the shelf?

if you buy one of each hose on far left column and if you purchase one connecting adaptor to connect two hoses together you can make one long hose of all these lengths. total cost maybe $100 then you just replace the hoses you used up. you can also do this for all the hoses we make up to 240 inches. you see how you can make up any hose within 3 inches of the exact length you need

we love 1/4 hoses, our hose is so lightweight, flexible and strong (bursts at 16000psi), also i think we have great price on 1/4 hoses

The older I get the fewer spares I buy of anything. I do plan to live to be 110 but I just loose it before I need it so the hour round trip into town is cheaper. :D

He hasnt gotten the sales pamphlet from his chinese hose supplier yet.

From the sounds of it, 3 weeks ago he was selling chinese cell phone accessories on eBay.
Dont worry, he's bought the right to have threads & posts deleted so his secret is "safe"....[/QUOTE]

I would hope this is not happening, advertiser or not. There is a honor and integrity issue if it is happening.

Unitedhose has dodged my inquiries for specifics on the hose he sells. He has made claims which he can not back-up. For the record, it's not like he is my competition because I have NEVER sold anything through TBN. Just want anybody to compare apples to apples. And, it's not like I don't like internet purchasing. I frequently refer people to Ken over at DHH.

our hose is sae100r17 specification which is rated 3000psi working pressure in sizes 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch sizes

i believe it means our sae100r17 has burst pressures divided by 4 to equal the working pressure of sae100rat hydraulic hose. for example of 1/4 inch sae100r17 hydraulic hose bursts at 16000psi which divided by 4 equals 4000psi, which is close to the pressure rating of 1/4 inch sae100r2at. 3/8 inch hose bursts at 14000psi which divided by 4 equals 3500psi which is close to the working pressure of 3/8 sae100r2at and our 1/2 hose bursts at 12000psi which divided by 4 equals 3000psi which again is close to the 1/2 sae100r2at pressure rating.

as far as two wire with 4 wire strength, i do not know why that is there as we have never sold two wire hose before. we have never had an agricultural equipment manufacturer use two wire hose just our sae100r17 hose

Eesh. Dude, you don't have a clue what you're talking about. In an earlier post, you gave some pressure specs then in a later post, you gave totally different specs for the same hose. I wish the moderators here would do something. Maybe it's because you are giving them money. There is a HUGE integrity issue here, money or not.

Hi Mark

so what do you typically stock? 3/8 inch hoses or 1/2 inch hoses or both
what do you do in terms of stock? what lengths do you stock or do you just purchase one hose at a time as required?

do you ever join two hoses together to make one hose?
