I have a 24 x 50 concrete pad that was part of a pole barn. Would like to get prefab building over the pad. Any advice, especially companies that offer prefab kits? Or, do I have to build it myself?

Thanks.

I'm not sure what part of the country you are in or what type of building you are wanting to build, but I live in Calif. and erected a 24' x 36' metal building with 10' ceiling last September. I got the building package from Texas Beam & Truss in (obviously) Texas. I worked with a salesman named Terry Aston and you can reach him a Txbeam@aol.com if you would like to talk directly with him. They also have a web site that can give you a lot of info. They delivered on all their obligations and were a great aid to me in the construction of the building which I did myself. I did contract out the roof because of the insulation and the need for at least two people. Believe me when I say "if I can do it anyone can" because I am basically mechanically inept. Instructions were clear and simple to follow and any questions that weren't answered by them were answered by the engineering dept. at the company. Price was right to and they will give you quotes for free. Check them out

I don't know your intended use for your storage building or how big you might need. Invariably, most people seem to wish they had a larger shed. Are you planning to build another pole-barn type shed or do you just want something to sit on top or the cement slab? Different companies make buildings for each purpose. Also are you limited by local codes for wind and snow loads on buildings. If you could give me a few specifics, I may have some suggestions.

As others have stated, it would sure help to know where you are. Try MetalMart as a source of bolt-up buildings that don't require welding. They provide location templates for foundation anchor bolts that are designed to be used before you pour your fondation, but in your case would be "drill pattern" templates.
