Do you have Cracker Barrel restaurants near you? Their Chicken Pot Pies are pretty good - don't know if you can get them "to go" though.....

None anywhere near me i'm afraid, but thanks anyway.

Boston Market? Although I'd add another vote for turkey over chicken. :)
Nearest one is about an hour or so away down in portsmouth, nh. i think i've seen some of their frozen stuff in super markets although i can't recall seeing any chicken pot pie. might be worth another look. and yes, i prefer turkey too but i do what i am told to do.

Oh yeah, I used to practically live off Stouffers dinners when I was single. Not sure if I ever had the CPP, but never had a Stouffers that I wasn't pleased with. Definately worth a shot!

This is one brand i had expected to see at the wholesale club but no luck. i'll keep an eye out though. their website says i can only find the larger 16 ounce pies at target. weird.

I've been perfectly happy with the occasional [16.5 oz] Marie Callenders CPP until this thread! Now I gotta visit this ZPie place! Of course, it'd be a 250 mile round trip so I'll eagerly await your post telling of the definitive answer to the problem.

And in your predicament I'd be phoning them and asking about a Maine delivery. Omaha steaks does it with no problem. Some styrofoam and dry ice. And if they'll deliver to Maine, and if they solve your predicament, shipping to us would be no problem at all.

As a side note, you are talking with the one person in the world who hates everything about omaha steaks even though they are an every christmas and birthday gift from a certain relative who shall remain nameless. i'll take fresh cut steaks from my local butcher shop any day of the week.

please don't wait for me to jump on the z-pie thing. go ahead and let us know your opinion. they may truly be the best store-bought chicken pot pies in the free world as I had asked for, but 3,000+ miles is just a little too much for this old man to grasp. must admit however - it would make for a good story to tell!

And here I thought I was that person.:D I made the mistake of buying one of their package deals . . . once. And once was enough.

I mentioned Omaha Steaks only because I accepted their offer ONE time, and received the meat packaged well and frozen still. Didn't particularly like them but just figgered it was us. Part of the problem is that we don't plan meals that far in advance (so as to remove the steaks from the freezer a day before we'd want them). If I want steaks tonight, I'll stop by the store on the way home and get some. Everything I've EVER been told says freezing is bad for steaks and I have no reason to disagree.
