Anyone have a good way of storing implements so they are out of the rain and easy to get to and hook up ?

A large shed with large doors and concrete floor would be a good way.

I dont have a shed to put them in, so I ended up buying canvas tarps to cover them up. I use bungee straps to keep the tarp from blowing off..

So far I have not had any trouble with them, and it has kept most of the weather off the implements.. the canvas tarps have last 3 yrs and except where the rabbits chewed a few holes they have held up very well

Most all my implements live outside. Except the ones at my Dad's which live in the arena.

I just set mine in a barn blocked off the dirt floor. The birds even put a nice whitish coating upon them, to prevent sun from damaging the finish, of course;)

Birds are so kind like that

My bush hog has lived outside uncovered for 20+ years- still works fine.

I have pallet racks outside with a roof added and tarps or metal/plastic roofing/siding panels hung on hooks for removable side panels. I put heavy implements on the lower rack, lighter ones higher up, and store other things on the higher racks.

Told to me by an old farmer,

If you have to leave your mower outside in the weather, put it on a wooden pallet, then throw a cheap tarp over it.
The pallet keeps the ground moisture away and the tarp keeps the rain off.
Plus, its easier to mount on your tractor when its elevated on a pallet :D

Makes sense to me !

The gophers are so bad here that the two winters when I left the rotary mower on the ground, I found it packed solid with dirt each spring.

Now the mower winters on two layers of pallet, and under a 20 x 20 tarp-carport. The lower pallet still gets packed solid.
