The real strange stuff is apparently at, or under the South Pole.
WE, are also apparently not allowed to go there either.
Actually, I'm not sure I'd want to .... seem like it'd be kind of cold. When the annual average high temperature is a double digit negative number in Fahrenheit I'm inclined to pass on going there (and I grew up with Minnesota cold).
So there's that and I'd question if they have regular and consistent access to TBN down at the South Pole.
That's quite a story that you linked to. I haven't through the entire story yet, it's getting past my bed time. Yet it's the kind of thing which I tend to read. SAR people are an amazing group; they are headed out into the woods to find somebody when the rest of us are headed home for supper and a shower.
