Straight or v plow for a 3/4'ton Duramax

Here I am plowing a gravel road in a much bouncier, harder to control farm tractor with just skid shoes. No pipe needed 😁
In fact, it’s just a high-cap loader bucket.

On a loader you can curl back and float the cutting edge on bucket so it won't dig in granted it requires some skill you have.plows I've used you can't curl unless you adjust the washers for the shoes to angle cutting edge somewhat still will dig if the shoes sink. Pipes for life for me anyway lol.

Where is the snow? Up here that doesn't count as snow, that's a light dusting that will blow away before noon. :)

You have to remember it’s all relative. When there’s only a little snow, people around here get freaked out and want it plowed :ROFLMAO:

Got 3/4 ton truck back with bullet proof front end and new front Bilstein shocks, c p3 pump installed plus, new to me monster boss plow with new wiring harnesses and undercarriage installed plow weighs a half ton. Trucks front end is tight and feels like I just bought it new with or without plow on it. Definitely makes absorbing the price I paid for all the bullet proof upgrades easier to stomach plus I came home to my newly diy remodeled home and all the money we saved to pay for these things. My brand new half ton is a different story though. and will be in shop for the foreseeable future in order to get a brand new transmission after it was determined it was gms manufacturing fault it failed in the first place. Don't twist and kink transmission cooler lines. Which was the cause of this failure and subsequent headache. Still ecstatic how my 3/4 ton turned out hopefully get to addressing rocker panels this weekend.

I’m breathing a sigh of relief that I didn’t have to pay for a plow and all those repairs.

I'm breathing a sigh of relief I didn't sell that truck especially after I've had major problems with my brand new 1/2 ton. I'll be welding pipes on the cutting edges of that 1/2 ton plow this weekend, and addressing the rockers. It's worth mentioning again new upgraded heavier duty front shocks, control arms, ball joints and tye rods really made that truck drive like new again with or without a plow on it.

I live off a 1500 foot gravel road and have a 9' V plow on my F450.. It's horrible to plow with on that road. It digs in and bounces way too much..and destroys the road unless it's absolutely frozen solid. However, the place I plow in the winter is a large commercial lot that has a difficult layout and being able to scoop the snow and push it where ever I want with the V is a huge benefit and time saver.

Besides addressing the rocker panels and plow cutting edges with steel tubes , I'm also planning backwoods hack mount my old blown up JD 260 lawn tractor on a old rusty forkable steel skid for weight in the back when I'm plowing with it at least til I scrap that old 260 and old skid . By then I'll hopefully saved enough money to buy a dumper dog for the 8' bed. A steel dumper dog is 700+ lbs without putting anything in it.
