Dogs live a long time... Pick a good one.

That is so true. My Sister in law got a pup to save it from the pound. Oh she loved it but it was a bad dog. It was barely house broken and had "accidents" all the time. It pulled on the leash and the dog trainer couldn't cure it. One day it pulled my Sister in law down and she had to go to the doctor to get her knee sewed up. It had separation anxiety and would tear up the house if left alone.
Finally it bit my wife when she was dog sitting it so my Sister in law had to hire a dog sitter. When it passed away we were kind of glad but my Sister in law cried. So my advice is to pick your dog carefully.

Well,I'm sure the dog is lucky,,trouble is,[maybe like a lot of us],he don't relalize it,,,,,if you got the patience you'll probably overcome his nature,,,I wouldn't have the patience,or the time,,ifin I wanted a dog,[or another dog],would get me a puppy and start from scratch,,,my neighbors,[well meaning and very nice older couple] got a couple of pound puppies[I learned that was what you called them later,never heard of it before],they were just keeping them untill they could be "adopted",,,anyways,,they would let them loose every morning for some pound puppy exercise,,,they would run over and beyond my place,,causing my dog who was tied up,,to bark,,and that bothered me,,,,after 3-4 mornings of this in a row,,went over and told them what was happening,,,they said that wouldn't happen again,,and it didn't,,,course,,like I've said here before,,I got this reputation of shooting dogs that bother me,,,thingy

Yep,one pony,bet he's still alive though,,,,remembered shooting another pony,,was 15 or 16,,we rabbit hunted a lot,,,,we used to hunt in my friends field,,where he had a pony,,big pony,,a work pony,,he would pull a cultivator,,and we grew sugar cane to make molassis[the sticky stuff],,,anyways,my buddie didn't like that pony much,guess it was cause it made him work more,,but the pony was mean,he would bite,,,and when we rabbit hunted he would chase the dog,,think he killed one of somebodys,,we was hunting once and the dog was after a rabbit and here comes that pony,teeth barred,,my buddy said burn him on the hind end,,[guess he thought I was a better shot,or he could tell his dad the truth and say no,he didn't kill that pony,]well I shoot,,,hit him with several shot,,he runs off,,after that,,,[he didn't die],he acted like he was scared of dogs,,just one of those attitude adjustment deals,,thingy
