Stray dogs are becoming a pain

Mild weather in the south means strays survive outside longer and have longer breeding seasons. There's a reason Florida has a lot more stray cats than New England, and it isn't because New Englanders are classier.
Yeah, we just have homeless people. A lot of dogs adopted her are from south.

Coyotes are well established and have even been seen in Boston proper.

not a fan of drop off's. folks don't want to take there animals to a kill shelter. (if shelter not able find a home the animal gets put down). instead they let the dang animal out in the woods / country, that does not know how to survive on its own, no pack or like and suffers a slow death.

again not a fan of drop off's, they get hungry, worn out, suffering from this or that after a few days, and they are use to folks, so they come right up to ya, but can suddenly turn ugly. not worth the hassle.

Even without a collar - if they are friendly, please have them checked for a microchip. Collars can be easily lost. I've got no problem putting down aggressive animals - but - it is the ignorant, uncaring, neglectful and useless trash of an owner that is more often deserving of the bullet. These animals depend on us for love and care. They are not to blame for their circumstance.

KretZ - I noticed your location in SE Ohio and Germany. Interesting. You ought to start a thread with pics about your place in Germany. The Rhein valley is beautiful! When I was a kid we lived in Weisbaden for four years. Made many trips on and along the Rhein.

Yeah, I am Active Duty stationed here in Germany for 4 years also. I have been here for 3 with one more to go. The dogs I spoke of are back in the states near our property that we will eventually build on when I am done with the military. Our place here in Germany is not what I would consider rural, although this region of Germany (North Rhine Westphalia) has a lot of farm land. But we just rent a small house in a village. Although I have done a few projects in the back yard I have been meaning to post some bef/after pictures of. The landlord supplies the building material and I put in the work just to have something to work on. I don't mind putting in the labor if its something we can enjoy while we are here, and it improves his property and keeps him happy. Although I will never mix more than one sack of concrete by shovel ever again haha. A concrete mixer is going to be on my letter to Santa Claus once we are back in the states haha
