Strugling with an American Carke converted 3930

I found the procedure for a 9600 , which looks Identical, It shows the flywheel at o degress, then the marks should line up, does this sound correct?

This is an odd machine, the 3930 ag tractor did not have any other option than a diesel engine. What is the number on the block of this engine (for my curiosity). Ford made a special run of the 3930 with propane engines just for Clark. If I recall right the starter is different than the diesel. You have a real unique machine, so advice might be hard to come by.

if we can ID the engine we might be able to assist more. I am curious if it is a diesel they converted to propane, or an industrial engine they put in the tractor, or a mix of both.

yes its a propance clark engine, sweeper vac, the history on the machine is vague, and has been through a few hands. I dont know the repair history, but several have worked on it trying to get it to run. it has good compression, Ignition timing is correct, and its getting fuel, this led me to cam timing. It does use the same distributor as a 3930, which is brand new electronic.IT will backfire when the ignition timing is way off, but thats all I can get it to do. This belongs to a church, several professional mechanics have worked on it, we are all scratching our heads. I will check for engine #s in the morn. The only thing I found online was a youtube video for setting the timing on a 9600, the internals look Identical .
