KC,
If you remember what brand of weed burner you have (Was it an Ace Hardware brand?) and it's BTU rating, I'd sure like to know. If #8 rebar is 1" thick as I think, a weed burner like yours would take care of most of my bending needs.

I either purchased it at Ace, which I think, or Home Depot.

I'll see if I can dig it out and find some markings on it, if not, I'll take some measurements/pictures.

Yeah, the bucket isn't for hte machine so I'll have to do some work to tighten it up, but I've never had such a hard time with a stuck anything in my life before. Although this is the first time working on something like this, too. The first 2 pins came right out, but that 3rd one was no joke. And the new bucket looks so much better.

Thanks, KC. No need to dig it out at this time. I went online and found that Ace sold the Red Dragon brand that maxed out at 500,000 BTUs. Harbor Freight had one on sale at about half the price with the same rating and I bought it. If that one doesn't work out, I'll get back to you.

Good job.

Some people would feel a great sense of satisfaction. Me, I get no satisfaction out of stuff like that and I am only left with the nagging question, why does everything have to be so hard?

It was more of a sense of relief. For a week I was genuinely worried that I wouldn’t be able to do it, that I was in over my head. And I regularly get that feeling because I have a bad habit of taking to big of bites. The next step with this machine is digging the foundation for my new garage, and that is a seriously daunting task that I absolutely am not confident about. My contractor convinced me to do it with my machine and I knew I couldn’t do it with an 8” bucket thus the new bucket.

I agree, I would have no use for that bucket. I paid H&H well over a grand to make me a 12" bucket years ago, and that can be a pain for cleanout. Seems I rarely take off my 24" bucket.
