Stuck PTO shaft

The PTO shaft on my brushhog is frozen and won’t extend. I’ve soaked it in both PB BLASTER and WD40. Anyone
got any tricks up your sleeve to get these unstuck?
I had the same problem with a rotary cutter shaft. I sprayed the heck out of it with PB Blaster and was able to pull it apart with the tractor. I then cleaned both ends by soaking the in degreasing solvent, dried everything and completely coated the male end with anti-cease and haven’t had any more problems with it. Maybe this will will work for you too. Good luck!

So, it NOT just my auger ! I had this challenge last week, will need to grease it a bit I guess.

They make it look so easy in the instructional videos ... never a glitch. :)

Popular Mechanics Magazine had an article 20 years ago that tested many solutions for breaking rusted objects free. It's a simple 50/50 mix of Acetone + Automatic Transmission Fluid.

My radial arm saw always cranked up and down with extreme difficulty, though it never seized. I poured the acetone/xmission fluid mix down the radial arm shaft and half an hour later it was cranking like a dream. It works wonders on seized rusty nuts and bolts. It was far better than all the commercial sprays for rust fixes in the Popular Mechanics test.

Good luck with your PTO shaft.
