Hmmm, guess I'll have to remember when I have my rotary cutter attached that I can't mow quick-sand either. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Glad you finally got it out Byra. If you got it stuck then you passed the TBN initiation test, congratulations. I'll bet a trip the the car wash is now in order for the tractor and the rotary cutter.......

Now, that's what I call stuck.
I have managed to keep mine from that situation, so far. I did have the front end buried but between the loader and rear end I was able to get her out. If it's any consolation to you, there are two kinds of tractor owners. Those that have been stuck and those that will be.
Thanks for the pic's.

It was just a little "mushy" until all of the rain came.

Besides, its all sand down here.

Looks like you got caught in the beginnins of another Devil's Mill Hopper!
Don't fail to check your oil for water. If it looks milky, change all the fluids and filters. You'll be glad you did. John

LOL! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I got a JD 4700 TLB rental unit similarly stuck @ 2 yrs ago - I didn't see a way to get it out. I thought I'd be calling for a dozer or another tractor to pull me out for sure!

Then my wife (yes - my wife! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif ) suggested I use the FEL and BH stabilizers to lift various parts up - then put 2 x 10's under the tires and managed to get it out. Doh! I was so frustrated at that point - "I couldn't see the forest through the trees." I can laugh now.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now I am careful to watch my rear tires - I they start to spin / dig in - I get out of there quick (ex. using the FEL) - and wait for things to dry out.

Glad you got her out!

Dan

You left it for a week!

If'n I was you, I would be draining and changing fluids, as weel as givining it a good bath.

I have had pickups sit for just a few hours stuck like that, and wound up with water in the front and rear diffs. Most are vented and water will seep in if left stuck for long. It's one thing when you go splashing through the water or mud, but when they sit, look out.

The cost of fluids in the fron diff, front finals ect would be cheap compared to the problems that could arise if water is in there.

Clean well around the starter too. If gritty water and mud soaked around there, it'll wear it faster. The grit will do a job on it.

Check the engine and hydraulic fluid real close too.

As my old buddy Red said "4 wheel drive is just a way to get stuck further from the road....: /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Glad you got it out.

The only thing I've seen buried worse than that was a 24' box truck buried that deep in caliche <adobe mud> on some BIA land in New Mexico on a Friday /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

At least you had the FEL to help you get out
