Traction Stuck

   / Stuck #21
Every time I see these types pics I kick myself for not having my self
recovery winch system in place yet... A 2" receiver up front, at the rear,
and a portable winch w/ a 2" hitch on the trailer used to pull items onto
the trailer as well.

I need to figure out if the BX25 battery will handle it ocassionally...if so
I need to wire up an Anderson connector I believe it is called...

Northerntool has has some great prices on winches...

I wholeheartedly agree, she is a keeper.

Same words came to mind when I saw the tractor pics, last one out.

Puzzled that the thin boards in the pics had anything to do with it, but maybe were just used to walk on and stay out of the mud.

Regardless, good to see it out of the mud hole.

It would take some extra heavy duty winch to pull that tractor out of the mud, mucked in like that.
What size winch are you thinking? Cable size and pull?

:thumbsup:The only question with your wife is what did you do to find her?
I was wondering what the propane cylinder was for in one of your pics.?

Wayne H... Looks like you have enough cable you could have been in Florida and pulled her out. Nice Dodge!

Doctorclean.... Yeah looks like the spousal unit is a keeper... a big plus is if she can cook too! Awesome she was able to get the big green tractor out so she could take you for a ride when you get home.

Artisan... Have you ever thought of a hydraulic winch? MileMarker makes many models and I have been thinking that they would be a good alternative to an electric winch as finding a "heavy duty" alternator for a tractor seems more difficult. Our cars and trucks have many electronic accessories and beefed up the charging systems. Tractors just don't seem like they have a lot of extra electrical juice, although I'm certain they can be beefed up for an electric winch.

Yes I have... My waterjet cutter co. has been broke down for 3 weeks.
I got an email from him two days ago were on again. I drew a bracket
for a pump (alpha) and I await it... Here is the thread. yes I have though
of it, no I would not do it for I want it removable and usable elsewhere.
Another thing on my plate, is there a HD Alternator available / been
figured out already for a BX25?

...The backhoe apparently wont pick up the back end??...
I have a 4500 JD w/ a 48 BAckhoe & my backhoe will not lift the tractor out of mud like that - I was surprised/disappointed that the backhoe did not have more umph. The outriggers however will lift the tractor, then I can put the hoe down & it will hole the tractor up.

Be sure to give her a big kiss and tell "Great Job".........for having the courage to tell you about getting it stuck and the knowledge to get it unstuck!

I am thinkin' 4500-5000 . Throw in a snatch block if necessary...

With mire factor associated with the posted pictures, you'd likely need several snatch blocks to pull that tractor out with a winch alone.
