rbargeron,

Your post made me bust out laughing! What's so funny is it sounds like something I'd do!

Thanks.

When I was serving aboard the nuclear sub Gurnard, we used to put fluorescein drops in our eyes (the kind the doctors use when you scratch your cornea) and hide a blacklight in the overhead when visitors were coming aboard. (Obviously this was only in port; hard to have visitors when a sub is underway.) Anyway, the visitors would come onto the mess decks and all the sailors's eyes would be glowing bright green!

Just got in from pulling a Stupid Human trick ! two actually .
I was plowing the drive . While I was at it I decide to use the Fel to clean the ramp to my shed . I got as close as possible and started to drop the FEL . CRUNCH !!! I now have a 3/4 " by 12 " vent in the front of my shed from the bucket hooks /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif The good part is that it's T-111 so it's an easy fix .
While I was parking the machine in the garage , thinking about how to repair my newly vented shed there was yet another crunch !!! You can't put 8 feet of tractor under a 7' Door .
No damage was done as the aux lights on the ROPS hit the door first . Just had to resecure the mounting straps . John

Hey man, I live within the blast zone of that nuclear power plant. Now you've really got me worried. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

PS - thank your employer for the annual calander detailing how to kiss my behind goodbye in the event of a "situation"

Been there...done that. I have a 10" gouge in the garage wall from one of the bucket teeth. I was using the loader to move my rear blade into the corner of the garage for the summer and I wasn't watching everywhere at once. Nothing that I little sheetrock and joint compound can't fix...my pride is another story. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Been there...done that...TWICE. (I had the benefit of an audience both times! ) Both times were AFTER I tied a red flag to the garage door to remind me to lower the ROPS before I drive in (since I could fore see something like this happening). A couple of small dents in the garage door trim...a couple of big dents in my pride (magnafied by the fact that I had an audience). /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Come to think of it, I had an audience for my sheet rock episode too... Maybe I should start working alone. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Non-tractor but FYI - The exact distance between the Grand Jeep Cherokee’s hatch back and the front windshield is 9’ 11 3/4”. I loaded up 5 – 10’ lengths of electrical PVC, the hatch back almost closed - and of course the PVC does bend a little, just gave it a little push so the back would latch, good it latched. It fit!!! I opened the front door and noticed the “flexible” PVC pipe sticking ¼” out the front windshield. I curse myself. I take a deep breath and laugh and realize I only need a new windshield. I then realize I have to drive home 10 miles home in heavy traffic. I curse myself again and keep my eyes straight ahead and see no one laughing. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

It's funny how much extra length the FEL adds to the rig and I really wish that Kubota paint didn't come off so easy on my wifes' back bumper....I told her it must have been another orange tractor that did it!

You are not the first person to do that!!! I've sent tech's out to fix tractors and it's just a lever! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif That's life! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif No trick just the next act according to Shakespere! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Two summers ago we were painting the rear of the house. My 24' ladder was left leaning up against the chimney while waiting for paint to dry for a second coat. I decided to mow the lawn but there was no need to move the ladder, I'll jut mow around it! Clipped the foot of it just ever so slightly but just enough to tip the ladder and send it straight through my brand new 6' picture window on the second floor of the house.

D'oh! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

When you're used to driving a YM1700 Yanmar, and then you go to a TC18 with FEL..........there is a LOT more tractor/FEL out in front now than before. When you turn around or turn a corner with the extra length........things like the lattice work around both the pool and deck seem to get wiped out somehow. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Or when you're mowing with the RFM, while the MMM is still attached and pinned up, you tend to watch the RFM and not the MMM.......needless to say, I have some repairs to do /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
