Stupid (read: unexpected) ways to hurt yourself with your tractor.

Jumped off my tractor recently and the FEL joystick went up my shorts. Lucky its' parts broke instead of my parts.

So, I have similar case of dumb luck.... I was moving some dirt with my kubota 2320 front end loader....no backhoe attached or any counter weight in the back since I was just killing time and not doing any serious work. After a few buckets I noticed that front wheels formed maybe 6 inch deep trenches from going back and forth in the same spot. And then, in a split instance it happened: as I was backing up with a full bucket, the wheel caught in the uneven surface and the tractor started to fall. Here is the dumb luck part..ask was falling off the tractor my shorts caught on the loader joystic which then dumped the latest ad before the tractor fully tipped.... I sat there for a few minutes reflecting on how lucky I was wearing baggy shorts!

Nothing like a joystick up the shorts! I have a jacket that every time I get off the BH the joystick goes into the pocket. Now I don't dismount the BH without putting the pins in so I don't break anything or crush myself.

I've had this happen with no serious problem.

The stupid way I hurt myself was: I used the FEL to lift a log with the tongs. I got off to reposition the log how i wanted it. Turned around and walked into the edge of the bucket. Ouch. It partly happened cuz I was wearing a ball cap (I usually don't) and the brim blocked my view of the bucket. On the plus side the hat reduced the damage and dirt in the cut.

Someone else mentioned a front tire kicking up a stick. This happened when I was dragging logs with my quad. The 1/4" dia stick went right thru the boot and into the side of my foot and broke off about 1/2" in.
