Limbs scratches and bruises from looking behind me instead of where I was driving; tripping over implements; replaced my driver pan seat with a seat with a back rest seat after clutching the steering wheel a little tighter and almost getting rolled off backwards, when I thought it was in reverse, but popped the clutch in a forward gear instead; and the dumbest was bush hogging across a brier patch wearing my shorts.

Are you kidding me they confiscate drawbars???are you talking about law-enforcement?
No, it is considered common courtesy to remove your drawbar in a neighborhood that has very tight parking, especially during a snow emergency when street parking is restricted.

Parallel parking, no one cares. Definitely a city thing.

I'd have to say bush-hogging around trees with the FEL attached...backing into a tight spot and not noticing the bucket caught on a tree trunk. Had a couple close calls.

Not tractor-related, but weed-wacking some years ago while wearing shorts (hey, it was hot!). Hit a patch of poison ivy I didn't know was there.

My wife, who's a good 6" shorter than me has a habit of opening the garage door enough for her to go thru, but not all the way open. Along comes yours truly, not noticing the door wasn't up all the way & cracking my head. :censored:

As owner / operators of small tractors, I'm sure we could each write a "What Not to do List" of tractor operations. The real question is?? Are we any smarter for all the pain and suffering?? Answer, probably not... At least not me anyway. I haven't repeated any mistakes, I just keep making new ones!! Great Thread...

Forgetting the height of the ROPS. Good thing the limb was almost hollow.

and where were you before it hit the ROPS and where were you AFTER it hit the ROPS?

Or should I say, the ROPS hit it.

You'd think the manufacturer should put a warning label on the hood that reads, "This Whole Thing Is Hazardous". My law firm number is 888-Big-Bucks.

I was in the seat for both. Luckily when I heard & felt the thunk I ducked and hit the clutch and brake.
