Re: Subject :BX 22 and BX 23

I've had my BX 23 since September. I love it over 50 hours and I have enough work to keep me going for quite a while. If it was bigger I would have problems mowing around the trees. I have a 60" deck with collection system. Also FEL and BH. As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures I will. Does everything I hoped it would do and then double it. The down side, the filter under the tractor should have a fuel shut off before it. At the 100 hour service I plan to install a motorcycle inline ball valve before the filter. And the collection bags fill too fast. Plenty of power, smooth well made machine. Rebuilt a gravel driveway with 18 tons of gravel and spread 18 yards of loam, and that was only one day! Dug out some stumps and lots of mowing. I have a snowblower coming and I am looking forward to the grapple that Junkman tested becoming production. I have lots and lots of rocks. After reading the posts on this board, it was a easy choice for my yard.

Re: Subject :BX 22 and BX 23

I've had my BX22 since May of this year and can find very little fault in it. It replaced a 24 year old Yanmar and the progress seen in attachment ease of use is phenomenal! When purchased, I was skeptical about the claims for easy interchangability of implements, but can now confirm that changeovers are quick and easy, even in the dirt. Just poured cement in the tractor shed prior to mounting front mounted snowthrower and it's even easier! Can't believe it took me 25 years to pour $250 worth of cement so I could stop laying in the dirt.
Back to the topic, FEL on or off in about 3 minutes, same for backhoe, MMM maybe 3 minutes off, 5 minutes on. Machine has more than adequate power for all uses so far, will post later after we get our first 2 foot snowfall of the year. (need lots of power in deep snow)
Can't believe I lived 53 years without a Backhoe! Planted 18 ten-gallon trees in one day without a single back spasm the next day. I agree with Bob Skurka that there is no financial justification for most of us to own a hoe, but it would also make better sense financially to rent a woman when we need one, rather than get married, but I like my wife and hoe better than a shovel and a 'ho.
BX22 and wife were both great decisions.

Love it. 100 hrs /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Putting in 1.5 Km of road up 100 metre of climb around rocks.
Gets a bit hairy on the 30 degree slope sections.

BH digs out rocks far bigger than the FEL can lift.
Light enough to trailer. Heavy enough to do the work.

Re: Subject :BX 22 and BX 23

BX22 3years and 340 hours. Has never had a problem (except for the air filter clamp breaking). I do my own maintanence.
Besides mowing it has been used to put in a golf green and sand trap, fish pond, dig trenches for downspouts, digging around foundation for repair, digging and leveling ground for gazebo, tilling garden, tilling and raking for new grass seed, planting trees, moving and replanting trees, pick up leaves, spread gravel on driveway, maintain driveway, plow snow... WOW, now I'm tired. Sometimes you forget all the things you have used it for. These things wouldn't have been done with a shovel and a wheelbarrow.

Re: Subject :BX 22 and BX 23

( Just got mine this past Thursday. So I still can't give a long-term review. But so far, I'm loving it, took a ride down my rear trails, fallen tree in the way, push away. Finally moved all those big rocks that I wouldn't touch with a wheel barrow. Also, dropped 500 lbs of gravel into a small depression in my driveway. Got rid of a massive woodpile of junk wood. All in a couple of hours, I plan on using her extensively year-round.

Before taking delivery, I started thinking I may have bought too small, but she is just the right size, a compact would have been too big for my property.

It is a very easy to operate machine. I had my manual two weeks before delivery, so when she arrived I was able to get right on and go.

I started out with wanting a b 2410.
When I went to the dealer that's when I saw they had the BX23 . Didn't know there was such a small tractor that you could have a BH on.
I debated a long time before choosing the BX 23 over the B2410.
After having it for over 2 months and 77 hours with tons of work and projects completed I'm convinced I made the right choice and don't miss the 2410.

Ya know what they say: Big things come in small packages.

( BX23 - 65 hours. 5' Front mount blade, 48" BB. Very happy with it. )

Wouldn't it be nice to have have a bx2230 to put the blades on that way you wouldn't have to keep changing the implements : around.

OH if only money wasn't an object.
