So true..I can let my nephews drive mine around here and not have to worry much about them getting out of hand..Now if they hit something, that's another story...RTV's can leave some damage..Thankfully I don't have any experience with that so far.

One of the other reasons I went with the 1100 is that I can take my daughter out for rides in bad weather. She's disabled and she loves long cruses in off road stuff...Made the purchase worth every penny in the weather we have...She can't tolerate temperature extremes and the HVAC cab fixes that issue.

That's great you can take your daughter for rides! Bet that really makes her day!!

Timswi - best use of an RTV I've heard yet.....nothing like getting kids out into the great outdoors....as you know, making those million dollar memories for her will last a lifetime..... not sure her age, but Branson is a wonderful place to get outside, enjoy the lake, Dogwood Canyon has hundreds of miles of paved natural trails with waterfalls....Silver Dollar City, tons of neat visual and hands on learning my kids absolutely love....... also tons of great family friendly shows....keep us in mind as a summer vacation destination....

TableRocked, good to know that improvements continue to be made to more recent 1140 models and that you have tried it on hills and like it. Agreed, the built in braking feature is handy...you will continue to appreciate it. Your wife should like the whole package as well. When you get it, we want to know what you do with it.

We have a 2007 Polaris Ranger XP 700 EFI that has been trouble free since new and does everything WE ask of it well. I have driven Kubota RTV's, new and old style JD Gators and an early 2000's Mule. The only one of these that I would consider trading our Ranger for would be the newer JD Gator. Why? Because it fits OUR needs well. We have tractors to do do tractor stuff and expect out UTV to do UTV stuff.

All the brands reviewed have their good points but final selection will be made on what fits YOUR particular needs.

Did see one post that seemed to equate Federal Government buying a certain brand with that brand being superior. Really? Brand was selected based on final price per unit and nothing more.

My 2 cents worth.

Yes NASA has RTV's at Ellington Field in Houston. So purchase of RTV means others couldn't meet requirements set by NASA. Not final price per unit. Common miss conception in government purchases. HS

You mean the lowest price per unit that meets the specs laid out in the RFQ?

and if only one machine mets it, you get it! Lots of thing are purchased just this way to avoid the cheap crap bids. Or you could just come out and say the other guys are just recreational companies that don't have a real parts support program, or something along that line and you get the machine you want. HS

And I have personally seen other brands used at other NASA Facilities. Your brand loyalty is admirable .... your stated "facts" not so much.

The picture in your profile is curious. Looks like John Ryan's LS Dealership on Old Bee Caves Rd?

I believe it is pretty well acknowledged that JD has a better parts support program than Kubota, I'd also be pretty surprised if Polaris didn't have a good part supply as well.

I'm just saying there are lots of ways for the government to buy what they want. Yes, the first tractor I bought was for my son, an LS U5030. Had I needed that much HP I'd have bought one too. Great machine. HS

Let's not forget the military buys lots of Polaris ATVs. Also JD gators, Honda, Yamaha etc. So... Not just RTVs are driven by Uncle Sam. Lol

Let one of those other machines stop on a steep hill with a load and then continue. Forget it. HS http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ37vHa3MXE Ride along with the real deal in Alaska. I like this, the 1100 is a very special machine. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQPgX_rzDKk Simply nothing else going to get it done. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQPgX_rzDKk

I don't understand why the first video was posted. They are talking about how to upgrade stock RTV shocks because they break a lot.

First I've heard that the shocks break...I use mine pretty good along with having a 72" Curtis power angle hanging off the front. Haven't had a single issue in almost 4 years.

Yes my not so little girl absolutely loves ATV's tractors etc...The 1100 was a good all around compromise for me.

Never been to Branson but know many who have...they all rave about what a nice place it is. Didn't know about the riding trails there. That might be a vacation thought although I'm guessing that's a pretty good haul from here to there pulling a tandem trailer. Not that's it's a big deal.
