Make sure to consider if parts or service will be available in 5 or 10 years. 15 years ago I did a little looking at some of the "off brands". Now, they are long gone and parts, even filters, can be hard to find.

Kubota, Deere, NH, etc. will likely either still be here or will have enough customer base for some third party to provide parts.

There has been concern in the ag community regarding Deere building their machines so that only Deere dealers can work on them. Can't do your own maintenance either. Bad news IMO. There are several competing Kubota dealers around here, but only one Deere dealer (AgPro) and they have been expensive and problematic. YMMV.

Keep in mind the size of a 40-50 hp tractor with a cab if you're using it around trees. Smaller is often better getting around/ under trees.
As far as brands go, I ultimately went with Mahindra...twice. Love 'em. A 38hp and a 75hp w/cab

After a while, I got glassy-eyed with all the possibles. What got me to make a decision was finding an close-out discount for one on my short list. In my case, NH Boomer 45 released from dealers “rental” stock - but from their remote location and not really rented but just run for 50 hours to get the NH kick-back. I got last year’s model around with ten percent discount from new, with full warranty.

John Deere now has a 75hp HST machine, the 4075R.
I hope other buyers have better Luck than taking a $4000 beating on turning a New JD 4075 R tractor back that can't budge a 2k pallet and JD could not seem to fix.

I think his new Yanmar is working well that replaced it, as did the previous TYM.

Would prefer a very good condition used to ANYTHING that requires DEF.
Put putting and DEF don't go hand in hand

Do you mind me asking where did you purchase your Branson 4820CH Stoyan79? That is a very good buy.

As far as incentives and pricing, is spring usually the best time of year to buy new? Really leaning towards the L4060

Not sure on that specifically, but make sure you check out the equine discount. It's not as good as it used to be, but looks like it's $1k off in 2024 (just need to join NCHA, which is free for the first year)
