Thanks for the info SunwardSolar. It is a very interesting topic for sure. However, I think I am going to use my alternative engery funds on a micro hydro turbine. I should be able to produce enough electricity to power my whole home and my heating needs. You don't happen to dabble in micro hydro do you???

At this point we do not. If you have the resource on your property for micro-hydro it is certainly a great way to go. Even a small turbine will produce a tremendous amount of energy since it will run 24/7/365. There are maintenance considerations, especially related to debris and ice flows, so be sure the system you select has a track record of endurance.
