Tractor
farmall super a
I am looking for advice on how to sell my dads 1952 farmall super a. He had taken a lot of parts off and cleaned them up and stored them with the thoughts of restoring the tractor. All of the parts are there and motor is not seized. One rear rim is deteriorated due to calcium leakage. The tractor has been in the family since my grandfather bought it and just want a fair price for it. I know we could probably part it out but my dad could do without that hassle.

Hmmmm... As is, it's probably worth about 5-800$ if you sell it all together. Put together and running, 1200-2500, maybe more if the paint and rubber are good or great.

What state is the tractor located in?

if it runs it could be work more. most collectors will not pay over scrap + for a non runner.

My last C i bought running but rough looking was 800$

Last auction I went to there was a SA that was in fair to good shape. newer paint, newer tires, 12v conversion, ran well. $1200

Are there any implements with it? ie; cultivators, plow, etc..?? That would bring the value up too. With the seemingly up & coming CSA's, organic farming, etc. these small row crop tractors with cultivators are increasing in value.

I'd sell it as a unit. Parting it out, you may sell the most common needed parts such as steering, etc. but the rest may set until you decide to scrap it.

Anymore, you can use this link to search Craigslist nationwide. SearchTempest Online Classifieds Search - All of craigslist, eBay & more in one search. And people are looking for tractors like this, especially up in your area of the NE. Many small 10-40 acre organic farms popping up.

If the tires are decent, and a perspective buyer has some mechanical ability, I really doubt you'll have any problems selling it for a reasonable price.
