Super M won't start

Doesn't want to idle up well especially under a pull. Might have to open up the bottom another 1/2 turn. Other then that seems to be back to her old self. Going to go back through and check valve lash and such. Seems to have a pop out the stack every once in awhile. Set points to .020 Timed to just back from lugging down as most say don't use the timing light.

On my OS-6, I set the crankshaft pulley timing mark on the first notch, which is tdc, and on #1. ****** the distributor a good ways, pull the coil wire out of the cap, just far enough it will still jump spark. Then turn the switch on, and rotate the distributor carefully, advancing it, until you can see, or hear a snap of the spark. You're pretty much dead nut on. Usually about this time, 6 airplanes fly over, or the neighbor's dogs start barking, etc.., etc..., LOL...

After you have that set, you can take a timing light, and check the advance, to make sure it's working.

HM only seeing 1 timing mark. Looks like someone used a chisel to make on the top edge of the pulley. The governor on this has been disabled as well. Is the advance a weighted advance inside the distributor?

Yep, weighted advance. Maybe the Supers only had one notch, all I've had is the OS, and an M, years ago.

Wonder why they disabled the governor..?? No wonder it doesn't want to power up under a load.

No idea on why but the bracket on right side has no linkage to it at all. It is wired back so can't get into the fan. 2nd gear is toast on it as well is missing a couple teeth off that gear. The distributor cap is held on with 1 clip and other side has a string tied back. Seems there was 2 brands of distributors so trying to determine so can order a new clip and pivot as both are gone.
