Super UDT2 in a Kioti

I didn't realize water could get into the hydraulics just by the tractor getting rained on. I don't have a covered area to park yet, just a tarp. Would like more information on how this could happen. Thanks!

A small amount of water gets into the system every day that you use it. As you suck air into the system from the vent tube, that air contains water vapor. You suck in a load of air every time your raise your loader, You expell that air when you lower your loader, but some of the moisture remains condensed on the cold steel. Hopefully you get the fluid hot enough to boil off a lot of the moisture in the fluid. If you fire up your machine on a cool day, and use the loader just a bit, you will take on some moisture in the fluid.

Of course if you do have an actual leak around any weather seals like shifters, then it is easy for water to get in.

Perhaps you should look into a little higher grade of whiskey?:D

Perhaps - but with mine - I save and reuse the quart jars. :confused2:

Look - there has got to be a point where I say - - STOP!!! When the hydraulic fluid I put in my tractor costs more than the whiskey I drink.....................

At 5 gallons of whisky for $100, you much a tough ol salt.

Super UDT2 and Shell spirax s4 thx are two totally different fluids. UDT2 has a JD20D spec and the Spirax has a JD20C spec. I had a JD20C spec fluid in my CK35 and it was to high a viscosity for the PA winters. I would have to warm up hydro fluid for 25 min before I could drive the tractor. I could lift the loader, but it would be into relief until the fluid was warm. With the Super UDT2, I can now start the tractor and start working.
Any fluid rated for hydraulics and wet brakes should be fine, just choose the temp range you will be operating in.

On a whim I Googled JD20C and found this. You are right, they are very different.
