I have wanted a good reliable moldboard plow for quite a while. Probably 3x14 would be ideal. Problem is, you can't hardly find them anymore. The other problem is nobody seems to make them anymore unless they're the (relatively) cheaply made ones you see at chain stores. But, from what I hear, these Kverneland plows are the cadillac of plows worldwide. I just wonder if anyone has any idea how one would go about purchasing one? When you click on [SELECT COUNTRY FOR SALES CONTACT] there is no dealer in this area! No dealer in the United States! I would hate to think how much these things would cost! Probably more than my truck. I would likely never get one of these but instead keep looking and waiting for a nice used Massey #74 3-bottom plow.

And them two don't even fit the three point hitch!:D

Farther down the list you will find some for less than a thousand.:D :D They will likely fit you three point too.:D :D

The best place to find a used 2 or three bottom plow is at an antique farm equipment auction. Around Indiana you can find two or three a month. The best pulling plows are the old international. They generally pull the easiest. It's amazing what a little difference in geomentry can make in the way a plow pulls. Most of these old plows can be picked up for 2-500 bucks. They require a little fixing up but you can't beat the price.

Pick up a Ford 101 at a farm equipment auction and save yourself lots of $$$.
I can't imagine the need for one of those ultra expensive plows.

"Holy cow!!! $12,000 for a USED 6-bottom plow!! $38,500 for a used 10-bottom plow!! A 3-bottom would probably be between $6,000 - $8,000!! I would need to win the lottery! I will need to look at some of the other brands listed there"

Well, like you said, they are the Cadillac of moldboard plows. What did you expect......???

Picked up a nice International 3-bottom 16-inch, 3 point hitch plow in Cookport, Pa. (McCullough's Farm Equipment) for $350. It works great...and they even placed new shares on it at no cost.

How 'bout some pictures!!

I had found this International Plow at a local tractor dealer on the lot many months ago (see photos below). It is a "Plow Chief" model. It looks like it may be a 3x16 or 3x14. I may go back and see if it's still there and how much they want for it. The only thing about this particular old plow is that I understand parts are getting hard to find, unlike other plows such as a Massey Ferguson #66 or Ford 101 where parts can be found without a great deal of effort. But I wouldn't plan on plowing a thousand acres, so it would probably last me forever. If it's reasonably priced I may get it. I've got a real itch to do some ground engaging work. I need to try out my draft control!

I understand the need to do some plowing. Of all my attachments, I enjoy using my moldboard plow the most. There's just something about looking over a newly turned field when finished with the job.

I bought a old made in late '50's plow for $35. The people that had it just wanted it out of their yard. It's a two bottom 14" that some people call a tumble bug. It has two sets of bottoms, one upside down that flips over and then makes the furrow opposite. They're no longer made and all the hydraulic have been stripped off. I been thinkin' of cutting off the top set of moldboards and making a frame to mount them on just for doin' gardens and such. Smaller plows and and Cat 1 implements bring good money around here as no one wants to part with them. bjr
