Re: Your 2910/3010 Decision Process
Robert,
I am right in the middle of finishing-up my extended tax return, so I don't have a lot of time to hit every point ... sorry about that. First off, I love my
B2910 and highly recommend it (although you need to keep in mind that my experience is limited with tractors in general). I ended-up getting the LA402 FEL, BL4690A backhoe, R4 tires with ballast, metal canopy, Land Pride PD-15 post hole digger (with power-down), rear remote hydraulics unit, 5.5' IH heavy duty box scraper, 6' Leinbach rear blade, Agri 5 "Big Bee" 60" rotary brush cutter, and Agri-Fab 17 cu. ft. Super ATV dump cart.
One of your best bets for info, input, and useful links is this very site and its fine members (they helped me immensely in my efforts). I also downloaded and used Muhammad's "Compact Tractor Buying & Basics" PDF book from the link on this site. I also visited online, called, and asked for quotes from many of the well-known vendors that either advertise here or are otherwise linked. In terms of pricing, I was definitely at a disadvantage because of my extremely remote location in southeastern Utah. I simply was not close enough to any of the typical "discount" dealers, and shipping costs from them to me essentially erased whatever savings I could otherwise get. Also, you need to pay some attention to who you are going to develop a relationship with to service and repair your tractor. This is another reason to consider making your purchase at the dealer of your choice. That is what I ended up doing, and although I definitely paid more for the tractor itself, the cost of all of the implements beat the heck out of most of the discounted online prices I saw in various places (and I still would have been looking at high shipping costs again).
In any regard, good luck in your efforts, and I know you will definitely be happy if you end up with the 2910 (or probably any Kubota for that matter).
