Re: "Survey of Repairs on Your Tractor"
Kubota 2710, May '01, 50 hours now.
MMM not installed by dealer (no time - see below), during self-install, discover that linkage bar that holds up the deck (60") has one flange welded 3/8" too far offset. (link to thread
60 inch mower linkage part doesnt fit ,
Cut or re-weld , cut and rewelded part myself. Dealer promised to order part, never did. Kubota has had this problem with others. The fix seems to be a dealer cut/reweld like I did myself.
Leaky loader joystick connections - tightened fittings and wiped up drips.
Loud rattle in loader joystick - installed plastic washers and tightened nuts/bolts
VERY LOOSE foldable ROPS at the fender mounting points - removed ROPS and inserted some thin flexible magnets (the promo kind for your fridge with some ads on them) and torqued the bolts TIGHT!
Sticking HST pedal - haven't fixed yet - plan to disassemble linkage and spray lube all parts.
Mid PTO pops out of gear - Fender was stopping the lever from fully engaging, so I bent the lever forward so all travel is between the sheet metal cut out and it doesn't hit at either end. I haven't mowed yet since I fixed this, so I'm not sure I really did fix it.
Leaky backhoe valve connections - dismantled valve covering, removed all lines, re-installed all lines tightly
backhoe pto pump alignment bracket installed upside down - reversed the bracket and adjusted inlet and outlet hoses to remove kinks
Some important notes:
The mower deck linkage was the only factory defect. I LOVE this machine. It really has no problems that require any serious repairs. All others were setup issues that were easy to fix (if time consuming). I bought the tractor as an internet special (dealer 250 miles away with great price). He stalled on delivery (two weeks from receiving down payment), so I pressured him after waiting 20 days. This probably resulted in his setup mech doing a fast, (and bad) job of setting up the tractor. By the way, the dealer was Keys Recreational in central PA. All work has been performed by me, since I don't want to ask for help from the local dealer (who was $1600 higher) unless/until something major goes wrong.
