Swamp People - Alligator Hunting

You don't have to get your hands and arms as close to the gator with a rifle as you would with a pistol.

Did anyone see that episode last year when the gator took the rifle? :laughing:

That would be good enough reason for me not to use a pistol.

Also, think about using a pistol at a moving target at that close of a range. It would probably be pretty easy to shoot the side of the boat whereas with a rifle you'd probably be poking it out past the side. That's my theory at least. :laughing:

I'm sure there are enough holes shot into the boats, with rifles...Maybe they dropped their pistol overboard, or it clogged with rust..Look close at their older rifles, pityful shape?I keep looking for patches on boats when they show loading the gators? I am looking forward to the Duck empire, I thought i saw Duck Commander as one of the cast?

okay, I have forgotten how old "Willie" is now? 21 Yoa, to buy a handgun legally..There was another guy with a beretta automatic whom shot a couple gators."Sharpshooter" was what Troy called him?

Me too, possibly better Microphones..I see some brand new motors and a few new boats ..Possiably bought with their new-found source of money from their road to fame on the tube?

If you wander around the Swamp People website you'll find there are a bunch of videos about the characters that give some of their backstories. Bruce runs a turtle farm and exports turtles all over the world. Another one (I don't remember who now), owns an alligator farm. I've heard that Troy has been pretty successful at either a trucking company or a construction company (or maybe both!) but I'm not sure. They all have other things they do for most of the year then when gator season opens they drop it all and do this. Someone calculated that they can make upwards of $70,000 in that one month. I think Bruce's turtle farm is also an alligator farm. I think I saw that last year.
