Swamp People - Alligator Hunting

Yep bruce has an aligator farm, they went over that last season. Thats why he processes his own gators and sells the meat and then the hides to a buyer and takes the middle man that the others use out of it. Bruce may still own a turtle farm not sure?

Clint last season started his own turtle farm, which is why he did not work with troy till later in the season i think if at all.

As far as the $70K goes in a month that is good money but im sure thats only for these guys with 500 tags and its hard to get that many im sure. You probly start out with like 5-25 id imagine. You also have to buy a lot of truck gas and boat gas to get that money too, as well as pay wages either by the hour, many 10-12 hour days im sure most of the month or either pay out a percentage of the catch say 5%??

I thought he said if you dont fill them, then next year you wont get as many.

Im sure thats true. If you have 500 one year and only fill 450, they wont give you 500 the next as you did not fullfill your quota. The only way to probly get more would be proving in the next few seasons to tag out your lowered tag quota of say 450 several years in a row early.

This is how the logging business works, if you have to give "loads" back or not haul them one week it is likely that you wont get them the next they will just let whoever have then that they gvave them to the week before. Now in both cases u can sub them out, like a logger to protect quota will give their loads they cant fill to a competitor to haul for them. Helps both out. The original protects his qutoa and keeps it intact for next week and the competitor got to haul loads that otheriwse would not have been able to haul. Gators im sure is the same way. Those young guys this season are basically doing this. That guy "coach" or whatever there calling him is giving them tags on a trial basis. He gets his tags filled by them with no effort. Thier not getting as much money for them as if they were their tags im sure. he either is giving them a flat $$ amt per gator of X size or he may be giving them say 75% of the revenue generated etc. Thats the reason he just did not give those kids 50 or so. He wants them to prove that they can fill them, which is why they got 5 at first then he gave them one more to get a "big " one to see if they can locate and kill big ones which is what they want anyway. part of this was for the show im sure but part is real im sure.

I get the whole neutral bouyancy thing in the water as well as the slick belly thing but this was one of the exact scenes i was referring to a few pages back in this thread. I dont care how slick the belly is they still have a good bit of weight liftede up there. My disk harrow is round blades that roll and my *** aint pulling it nowhere and it only weighs 350lb-450lbs!!!
