Did you notice that the tighter you got the chains the closer your lower arms got to your tires? Actually, they remove the wheels entirely before loading into the container. These Yanmars were built narrow so they would fit into the bed of a Japanese pick-up truck.

Flipping the tires solved the problem. Now I have at least an extra 6 inches of travel on each side. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!
