I knew it would happen sooner or later. I was hoping later.

We picked up 7 turtles just after the heavy rains (3 weeks ago) their shells 10-16 inches. All in the middle of the road. Someone said it's their mating season, and they were very long when extended head, neck and tail. Last week we saw an alligator about 3 feet long, and usually not around here for miles. Maybe it's a gator with a very small head?

No need to worry DannyD. Our place is a dedicated Texas Wildlife/Wildscape Habitat. The only animal that is not welcome is an aggressive poisonous one. One strike and they're out. They all run except those darn copperheads. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Kyle that is very bad news. The Alcoa mining mutated Fedor swamp thing is the last thing I need around here. I'd rather have a mess of copperheads to deal with, at least they don't sneak up to you under water. Guess I'll have to drain the pond. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have yet to see a copperhead, but I have to say I agree with you on that, it would be history.

Shoot, once on my place I hit a 3 foot black snake with my tractor.....blades going......I felt bad about that one.

Now I've just gotta ask, how is it that a good ole Texan, on his ranch no less, has a camera to take a picture of this and nothing to take a poke at it or dispatch it, huh? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
