Why not have someone catch them and place them in another area lake or pond. I know folks that used to bring to them to our local county lake, and then sit and catch a bunch of the little fish and take them back to their pond. I see no need in destroying them if there is another way to keep them out.

I don't know? The only times I need something to dispatch is when I'm not on the ranch. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

these turtles are easy to catch when they are on land, i don't think i have ever seen anyone catch one in the water, on purpose anyway!!!! there are turtle traps around, but they are not cheap, and 22 shells are cheap. some folks say build a turtle trap, but it seems everything i build turns into a mess.

I agree with Danny's approach. Why kill somehing when you can just move it, and let it live? Many people are way too quick to kill things, when here are other choices.

Why move it when you can just enjoy it.
I'll swim in the other pond to keep all my appendages. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I took your picture and put it through an image enhancement process. The image is faint, but after much analysis, I believe this creature will be linked to the military.

Heck...... if its head is as small as it looks in the picture that you posted, then its eyes and mouth are also small. As long as you appendage(s) are larger than its mouth, you are safe. If smaller, all bets are off..... Better swim in the other pond... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
