I need a swinging drawbar for my JD 5203 and my local dealer tells me that it's $200.00. That seems exceptionally high as all I need is the drawbar, not the whole kit. I see where TSC and Agri-Supply carry one that is a Cat 2 30'' drawbar and less than $40.00. As near as I can tell from their specs, it does not state compatibility for Deere, mostly MF.

Anybody got any thoughts on this and where I might get one at a reasonable price. I will try to make something before I spend $200.00.

Draw bars are designed by the tractor manufacturer to be a specific length for use in 2 piece driveline equipment.
Has something to do with universal joint alignment when turning as you would have with a baler.
Other pieces of equipment shouldn't be a problem ie harrow or disc.
To be sure, ask the men in the back room of your equipment sales place who use implements, why specific drawbars are used.

Thats realy not a bad price. I replaced mine a few months ago and it was $280. Ive seen another one for around $400. You might try to find a salvage yard and maybe they will have a used one.

I would measure the one for your tractor and go to tsc and get one - if that doesnt work - go to a welding shop and have them make one - its only a piece of metal !!!!

200 is insane
