I took mine apart, cleaned it, sprayed the inside with WD40 to repel moisture, and sealed up the holes in the bottom. First push from below to pop them out of the dash. They then come apart easily by prying a plastic clip on each side. Be sure to hold the switch right side up while disassembling so the parts stay put inside, so you can see how they are supposed to go for reassembly. There is a nice water/dust gasket sealing the joint where they come apart, but there are holes in the bottom where the contacts are. I sealed these with caulking and have not had any further problems.
