I want some! I got my wix filters. They look to be good quality. Now I need the juice. You hit me with a link to the web site. They did not have a local dealer for me (that I could find). Should I just try to buy direct?

the 15w40 @ 1-gallon is $17 at dealer cost and retail is like $21.XX. It is up to you. I know there are dealers out there. I can ask some people? If youonly order some items I would just pay retail or find a dealer on this site...hint hint.

Thanks for info & I've got a couple more questions /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
What is "dino oil" ?? I'm assuming a slang term ??
What about additives ?? I use JD Plus 50 Regular 15x40 Oil but for years I add 20% Lucas Oil Treatment. What's your feeling on my process ??

You may want to go to bobistheoilguy.com and check out his findngs on Lucas addatives.

I'm ready to make the switch and buy Amsoil. Is this the exact oil you use in your BX?

SAE 15W-40 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel and Marine Motor Oil
API CI-4+/SL/CF/CF-2, EO-N+03', DHD-1, ECF-1, VDS-3
Custom-Blended For Outstanding Performance in Today's Engines

Follow Dargo's post and go from there. Dino oil is a group 1 to 3 oil. I personlly do not like it.

Also I would NEVER addatives to any oil, not even gear fluid. All the addatives should be in the oil/fluid.

I'm already an Amsoil user. I used the Series 3000 5w-30 HD Diesel oil in my Kioti CK20.

You are quite a bit further north than me and have far worse winters... why did you decide to go with the 15w-40? Please let me know any pros/cons you have with either oil at both of our locations and corresponding temperature ranges.

Well for starts the pour point of Series 3000 is –60 F and 15w-40 DD&M is like –47 F. So that is really about –40F and –27 F pumping Temp. I never get down to –27 F in my area. You will be lucky to get –5 to –10 F around here. So anything below this temp is a waste. Plus the VI’s are very close on both. The Four ball test is better on the 15w-40 vs the Series 3000 5w-30.

Plus I like the fact that the 15w-40 passes MIL-PRF-2104 which is anti rust I believe.

The series 3000 might be a tad better in additive packages but the price is about 37.3% more at dealer price. I am not saying it is a bad oil but I would like to see their series 3000 and 15w40 go head-to-head. So far the ZDDP in both look very close and so does the TBN.
