Leaks are to be expected? Are you kidding?
My Kubota has not leaked a drop, as it shouldnt. 100% not acceptable.
Should a new car leak? or a New lawn mower?

I am 5' 10" about as average of a guy as you can get, the HST peddle is in a BAD location, going in reverse requires a straight down force...while sitting.
Try this, sit down in a chair and push down hard with the heel (toes up). Now keep doing that for a few minutes. then do it for a few minutes every 10 minutes for an hour. Point being, it isnt my body type.
I will take the time to figure out how to move it, or modify it so it will work properly. ( As if I'm not busy enough)
I spent about 4 hours in the seat this past weekend. I'll give it a 4 out of 10.

I haven't sat in this tractor, so I don't know exactly how it works, but...

On my TC33, I tend to shift my entire foot backwards so that the center of my foot is on the pedal. Trying to go forward/reverse just by rocking your foot back and forth is not easy to do. Shifting your foot makes all the difference.

I added a $4 cup holder to mine, just above the 3pt lever on the fender. A couple of bolts through the fender, and I was done.

Regards,
-Steve

LittleJohn, I don't know exactly what the HST peddles are like on yours but on my TC45DA there a pain to use for long periods of time and I've been thinking of a way to mod them to "Fit my body". I've actually develope a foot problem from them. I know its from the tractor as when I take a few weeks away from it, it stops hurting. Other and that the only other problem I've had in the 400 hours (almost two years) that I've owned it is a hydo leak that was due to a bad design in a manifold block. The NH fix was JB weld in the hole close to the O-ring. Hasn't leaked since.

My TC45DA can also be a pain to get into gear. As Thumper said, tap the peddel and she will go right into gear no problem. Learned this early and now it natural to just tap the peddle if I feel any resistance going into gear.

Hope it gets better for you and your daughter.

Which peddle do you tap to get it to go into gear?
Thanks for the kind words about my daughter. Turned out she had an E.Coli infection...that is some nasty stuff. Our state health dept. is still trying to figure out the source, as 5 other people have it in the state. Not many resoures left now due to everybody workin on swine flu.

I just push in the clutch to get it in gear (left side foot pedal on my TC33). It's hard to get into gear otherwise. I'm assuming you have HST? I never take it out of gear, just push in the clutch when starting. I do the majority of my work in 2nd gear (out of 3).

Sounds like you may have more than one problem with this tractor. It shouldn't be bogging down like that.

LittleJohn, I tap either one as I'm trying to put in ingear if it's being difficult.

Hey, where in Wis are you? I grew up in Kenosha. Left at 21 when I joined the AF, retired 26 years later and ended up in Okieville. We really like it. Execpt for the days like last night and tonight. We had winds between 50 and 70 mph and tonight there's "torantic activity" all around us. We're prepared to jump into the frady hole if something comes too close....

I live in Racine county, about 25 minutes to Kenosha.
My farm is between Mauston and Elroy (central WI.)
Dont feel bad about the storms, we had them too! My dog was freakin!
I guess you do have more of them, but I bet you dont miss the ice and sub zero temps. Its all a trade off and the grass is never greener....( ours is just getting green now!)
I did try tapping the HST peddle, and I always use the clutch...doesnt help. I will be contacting the dealer.

the issues you are experiencing is due to Dealer prep.
This is a new Tractor with a warranty?

Call your Dealer have them take it back and make it right.
This has nothing to due with the make of your tractor.

as far as the HST shifting into gear, I just move my loader up or down to relieve pressure on hst and she shifts in no problem.

Hey Little John,
I just got my T2220 last month- I have 11 hours on it now and I know what you're talking about-- all of it except the leaks and wires.
I figure I just have to learn how to use it since I know nothing about tractors. I did figure out the parking brake thing after experiencing your same frustration- the trick is hold down the brake pedal, pull up the e brake, remove foot from brake pedal, let go of e brake- VOILA!
I think I have to get used to the joystick to operate the loader a little more smoothly.

I'm also going to replace the plastic tool box with a bigger sturdier one with a cup holder in the lid- they have them at Sears. that should be very easy as there is a nice metal bracket to attach it to.

As far as the power goes, I'm just glad I heeded every one of the thousands of posts that says "buy bigger than you think you need".

On the other hand, it's absolutely too big to use as a lawn mower so now I'm buying a JD X500 to keep Boomer company.

Good luck! Maybe you have to try talking nice to it.

Believe me, I havent been talking nice to it!
Good luck with yours, and I'll try the e-brake trick, although I think I have already tried that and it didnnt work.
I bought a cup holder for it this weekend.
Beers.
