T494 Arrived

Outside of the occasional lemon, I do think you and your father would get a lot out of any of these machines, but I've got to say TYM looks better every day. Each new model they introduce seems to be better than the last, and they're constantly improving.

For a long time I dismissed them, I'll admit it, but that came about due to my disdain for my local dealer. That's not the fault of the tractor, or even TYM, but it was enough to keep me away.

ok....pretty well decided the T494 is the way we are going to go. any other comments thoughts or reports on how it works? anything you dont like?

Mine is fine. Other than the turbo and cab it's the same tractor. Most of the work I have done so far is moving dirt from a pile to fill driveway damage. Some others are probably faster.

Question, I have been reading that the hydraulics are weak on this model....reviewers state that you cannot lift and curl at the same time.

I test drove one again yesterday. I noticed the bucket curl was slow compared to the 2005 branson we have and the LS347 I test drove...but i did not try lifting and curling at the same time.

I did not mind the slow curl, but doing 2 tasks as once would be nice as our primary use will be brush.

Anyone tried that task of doing 2 at once?

clover...the 4830 has more hydraulic capacity...probably why yours bucket is fast. you are correct, they look to be heavier built than the T494. Can you provide some pics of the loader control? appears it is much heavier and located on the fender flare vs all the way to the ground.

Oh and I guess the test I'm speaking of is could you try to lift and curl the bucket at the same time and see if it runs out of steam or keeps going

I may be able to do that tomorrow. Though as I recall, I can't post video here... I tried to with my hydraulic top link and it wouldn't work.

Thanks for the pics clover...I keep reading these reviews of the loader handle on the 494 snapping off in cold weather or when hit upon exiting the cab. That issue seems to be a non issue on the 4820 given that it is mounted in the side console off the floor...man Torvy...that is a lot of tractors!
