Greg, as you may remember, I use a Pro 8. It has a 96" roller with horizontal bars on the bottom. It probably turns easier then the carbide studs. Prior to using my Pro 8 I always rip the soil with my box blade, then follow it up with my Pro with the spring tooth chisels down. The Pro has hydraulic chisels on it as well as hydraulic angling and hydraulic roller height adjustment all easily controlled by a solenoid switched at my TnT valve. My tractor very easily turns the rollers but the added weight, about 1600lbs adds a lot of traction on the rears so there are times I loadup enough to require low range. My tractor has 30 PTO HP and is hydrostatic which works very well with the powered rakes.
