Pine....Cool Man. That's a great experiment and looks like it works well. Did it affect the paint at all?

More pics please of the finished product when you can.

A few of you asked for finished pictures. It's now December and we have yet to have a good snow, so I was pushing my luck a bit by stretching this project out as long as I did. Here's a before and a couple of after shots of the old Meyers converted over to a NH plow.

Thanks for following along with this project guys.

PS I really like the electrolysis method of cleaning the rust from the steel. :D

Thanks Kenny, we are happy with the way it turned out too. Not bad for a roller and a paintbrush huh?

Hey guys: I FINALLY decided to give the ole electrolysis a try and see what it looks like when done. I hooked up my charger and put about a full cup of soap into a 5 gallon bucket with 2 hunks of rusty I beam, which is going to be the mounting plate MOUNTS for my trailer so I can mount my new 8K lb winch onto the trailer tung. these 2 - 12" x 6"x4"x1/4" I beams will be welded to the trailer rails and have already had bolt holes put into them to make quick on/off of the winch easy. that way the winch will stay in the barn clean/rust free. and all that

now my charger is a 2-10-50 amp unit, and has a 12hr timer too. I set it to the 50 amp just to see and talk about some bubbles :D I reset it back to the 2 amp as these parts arn't too rusty, just needed some surface cleaning. will pull them tomarrow afternoon & clean prime for paint/welding onto trailer.

Mike,
Super nice looking job in NH blue! I'm sure before spring comes you'll have a chance to use it!

MIKE:

I WISH our camera was working correctly it seems to have blown a CCD or something it has red lines through the photos and green lines and blue lines :( photos are literally not worth viewing
It's an HP which we bought prior to x-mas last year and they said it has to be sent in. also said that it was something we probably dropped it or to that effect... ANYHOW looks like I'll be finding a new camera, looking at a casio and samsung since we have both mfg for other electronics which have been bullet proof & works great! Both cell phones we have are samsung and mine still works after going through washing machine dropped into the creek 2 times and almost flushed once, as well as dropped 100's of times from tractor waist down steps ect. :) needless to say I DIDN'T drop the camera, but now it is out of warranty after they kept telling us to do this & that & being unable to reach through to help lines... they did say they would give us 20.00 off a NEW camera lol
ok well perhaps I'll get some finished photos ;)
