The 25 percent internet coupon was only good for Thanksgiving day. BTW, I got the mower assembled on Sunday, everything fit, no missing parts, and looks good. Will be filling the gear box with the 90 W oil, and hitting all the zerks sometime this week. No need to mow here in the PNW for a couple of more months.

yep got that coupon today, and i beleive it is still on sale for 350$. My uncle has a bushhog brand 6 fter with prolly 50 hours or less on it that he told me he would make a deal to me, like a real deal. Other wise id be looking at this one hard esp. with the coupon for 25% off. But i think i can get his 6fter running, (needs belt) and purchased from him for less than this costs.

Took the grease gun out to the mower, and It dose not fit the Zerks. Went and bought 6mm metric zerks, and will be replaceing all of them. Looks like I have to remove some sheet metal to get to some of them.

I have been looking at the HF 5 foot finish mower for a while at the Harbor Freight web site. 5 Ft. 3-Point PTO Finishing Mower

1/1/2011. I see today's price is $375. With a 25% coupon that would be $281, plus $90 overweight surcharge, plus probably their ordinary shipping from Camarillo (NW of Los Angeles). What a deal!

No better time to register and get my first post. I've been reading for a while. It's time I show some appreciation for the good knowledge shared here. Thank you all for sharing your experiences.

I only have ~1-2 acres to take care of for the first year until I take over the farming. Short term I will have mowing and some tilling / seed bed preperation to estabish a large lawn ~1 acre. There is currently 10 acres in pasture, 38 acres in corn. Long term I plan to build up everything in some sort of pasture or something to produce feed for cattle.

I'll be looking for a 1700D <-> YM2000D in the comming ~2 months. I was debating making a road trip to Alabama for this if nothing better came up closer to home. Anyone have any experiences with any of the Dallas outfits?

Finances are tight for 1 year while I sell the home I'm comming from, but after that things will open up significantly. So I could wait for a loader on the initial purchase.

I'm not familiar with Dallas dealers, but RCO in Austin should be good. You might want to avoid dealers with Vietnam reconditioned tractors, (lipstick on a pig:laughing.

Wow thanks. I had not discovered this dealer yet, and from the info they have on their site, they look very solid.

The funniest thing about this is that I work less than 1/2 mile away from this place and didn't even know it existed, down a little side road.

Now I can go start looking at some of these up close

Brownbr, The only zerks that you will have to replace are the ones on the wheels, the ones under all the sheet metal are standard, go figure. Just getting ready for the mowing season. Also added the 90w to the gearbox today. The shorter 3 pt top link should be here next week.
